Youth Ministry
Reaching young people for Jesus Christ is an often understated and undervalued component of the church’s mission. In keeping with the vision and mission of the church, the Youth Advisory Council plans activities designed to promote the spiritual, social and recreational development of youth (ages 6-18) The Youth ministry currently includes Nursery School, Kingdom Kidz (Youth Church), the Youth Choir, and Youth Ushers. More ministry opportunities for our youth are forthcoming.

Youth Choir
Ages 7-14
Each fourth Sunday young people are given the opportunity to participate in and lead worship services. Linda Wilson and Rene King are in charge of this ministry.
Rene King
Children's Church
Children, 10 and under leave the main worship service, to worship together in the lower auditorium in a special child- centered service. This worship service is available on first and third Sunday. The children particpate in the youth service on fourth Sunday.
Judy Tanner and Linda Wilson are the coordinators of this ministry.
Tutoring
General tutoring available each Monday from 6 PM until 7 PM during the school year.
Field Trips
Several field trips are scheduled each year for the youth of First Baptist and sister churches.
Black Legacy
A series of programs highlighting the accomplishments of People of Color are presented in the Nickens Heritage Center to the youth of the church.
Sunday School.
Classes for ages five through teens are available.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is held during the first week of July for ages 5 through adult.
