First Baptist CDC

The concept of being our “brother’s keeper” is a biblical concept and it serves to give us guidance regarding our duties and responsibilities toward others. Although The First Baptist Church Community Development Corporation (CDC) is a nonsectarian not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, it operates within the greater ministry and vision of First Baptist Church supporting the linkage between church and community. The CDC represents a portion of our effort to reach out through witnessing and ministry, based on the conviction that we must remain relevant in our approach to speak to the issues of our age and significantly impact the community in which we live and serve.

The role of the First Baptist Church Community Development Corporation is to identify and meet the secular needs of our church community and the Chillicothe community at large. Our mission is to provide solutions that address the socioeconomic needs of any of our underserved segments. Our vision is to serve as a catalyst that will harness the power of our community and to make strategic alliances to improve and expand our quality of life. First Baptist Church has made a commitment to engage our community to provide a continuum of possible services including support for individuals and families in need, whether that help takes the form of rent assistance, food and clothing, job training, or legal aid as well as transforming the community through addressing problems with adequate education for our children, crime, housing, redlining, and lack of access to medical care.
