Woman of the Year
By Hazel Brandon | September 26, 2011
During the Women's Day celebration, Deaconess Cheryl Brown was named 2011 Woman of the Year.
Cheryl continually demonstrates her love and faithfulness to the church through her dedicated service.
She quietly goes about doing various tasks for the church; and she neither expects, nor desires any recognition. She is an active member of our Sunday school, works in the kitchen; serves as an usher, as well as a deaconess.
During the summer months, she can be found at the church, helping her husband with planting and maintainlng flowers in the flower bed in the front of the church, as well as in the flowers adjacent to the parking lot.
During the recent renovation projects, she took an active part in cleaning and dusting the church, making sure that everything was in order. On several occasions, she treated the workers to lunch, to show appreciation for their hard work.
Many people are not aware of the many contributions that she makes to the church, as she goes about her work quietly, knowing that God, who sees all, will someday reward her for the work she has done.
