Rev. Michael A. Alston

Rev. Michael A. Alston, a native of Baltimore, Maryland was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and is a graduate of Walbrook Senior High School. Rev. Alston matriculated at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia and is a graduate of Morgan State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy with a concentration in Religious Studies. Rev. Alston is a graduate of the Ecumenical Institute of Theology at St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore, where he received the Master of Arts in Theology degree. Rev. Alston is also an active member of Nu Sigma Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

Licensed to preach on December 11, 1983 and ordained on December 12, 1993 by the Central Baptist Church of Baltimore, Maryland, he served in various ministries and was also engaged in several ministries outside the church, such as the Black Education AIDS Project, Churches United Against AIDS other counseling and referral ministries. His dynamic style of teach-preaching has led many to accept the call to salvation and others to fully possess the assurance of their salvation.

Rev. Alston previously served as Senior Pastor of the Pilgrim Baptist Church of Newark, Delaware. Under his administration, the church experienced tremendous growth, adding new souls to the Kingdom and new ministries to the local assembly. He served as Chairman of Home Missions, Chairman of Foreign Missions and Dean of the Congress of Christian Education for the United Baptist Missionary Convention of Delaware. He is also a certified instructor for the COPP Program of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. Among other civic interests, Rev. Alston currently serves on the Board of Directors for the First Capital Disctrict of the American Red Cross.

Married for thirteen (13) years to the former Davita A. Thomas, Rev. and Mrs. Alston are the proud parents of two daughters: Alexandra and Allison Alston
