First
Baptist Church is a practitioner of the Baptist Faith. The
Baptist faith teaches the principles of the New Testament
Church. All Baptist doctrine is Biblical. The church should
always be built upon the doctrines of the Bible. The church
must be relevant to meet the needs of modern society. This
may be accomplished by being flexible in our method. The church
must continually strive to fulfill the mandates of Christ.
The church must challenge the world to follow Christ and transform
society spiritually, educationally, economically, socially
and polically.
It is the goal of the ministry for all congregants to be
able to worship in a free environment. The people of God should
be able to worship in diversity as led by the Holy Spirit.
The church must realize that diversity within the kingdom
is strength and not a weakness. It takes all types of spiritual
gifts to make the church complete. I believe that God blesses
both male and female with gifts and callings to edify the
body of Christ. We shall strive to be a church that is open
to the Holy Spirit in reguards to men and women exercising
their gifts to teach , praise or preach the gospel message
of Jesus Christ.
We shall fulfill the following vision statement, to help
our ministry fulfill the mandates of Christ. The vision statement
of the church shall be “stirring up the gift in you.”
This is based upon second Timothy 1:5-9.
